Welcome to YPI School of Barbering

 Your Professional Image School of Barbering opened on August 12, 2011, after receiving licensure from the South Carolina Board of Barber Examiners. As a community-based institution, YPI has proudly served the Columbia area since its founding. The school has graduated students who have gone on to achieve success in the barbering industry. YPI remains committed to both its students and the community. Since its opening, the institution has been operated under the leadership of its founder and director, Tony Taylor Sr. 

 The mission of Your Professional Image School of Barbering is to provide students with a strong foundation in design principles through theory, paired with hands-on practical application. Students are taught to adapt every aspect of a design to meet each client’s unique needs. This approach empowers students with limitless possibilities, shaping them into true hair designers and valuable assets to the barbering industry.
