The Barber Instructor Training Course is designed to prepare licensed barbers with the skills, knowledge, and professionalism required to teach in a licensed public or private barber school. This program focuses on instructional techniques, classroom management, and student development.
Course Highlights:
- Total Hours Required: 750 clock hours (as required by the South Carolina Board of Barber Examiners)
- Training Structure:
- All training must be completed under the direct supervision of a licensed instructor
- Instructor trainees may not be left alone with students or placed in charge of the facility at any time
- Trainees are not permitted to perform clinical services on clients, whether compensated or not
- Provided Materials: Students will receive a Teacher Training Manual and any required instructional supplies
Prerequisites for Enrollment:
- Must hold a high school diploma or GED
- Possess a current Master Barber license issued by the South Carolina Board of Barber Examiners
- Submit an official transcript from the barber school previously attended
- Have at least 3 years of experience as a licensed Master Barber
- Demonstrate proficiency in:
- Shaving procedures
- Hair cutting (including shear-over-comb and shear-over-finger techniques)
- Facial massage and treatment
- Basic hair rolling and curling techniques
Outcome:
Graduates of this program will be eligible to apply for licensure as a barber instructor and will be prepared to teach and mentor the next generation of professional barbers.
