 The Barber-Styling Course at Your Professional Image School of Barbering provides students with the training and education needed to become licensed professionals in hair design and hair care. This program combines theoretical instruction with practical, hands-on experience.

Course Highlights:

• Total Hours Required: 1,500 clock hours (as mandated by the South Carolina Board of Barber Examiners)
   
• Program Duration: Approximately 9½ to 12½ months, depending on enrollment pace
   
• Initial Training Phase:
   
  • First 280 hours focused on theory and basic practical skills
     
  • Students are not permitted to work on live models during this phase
     
  • After completion, the institution must submit a signed and notarized statement to the Board of Barber Examiners.
     
• Advanced Training Phase:
   
  • Remaining 1,220 hours include:
     
    • Theoretical instruction in advanced barbering concepts
       
    • Clinical services and hands-on training on live models
       

Outcome: Prepares students to sit for the state licensure exam and begin a professional career in barbering
